After such cold winter in NYC, I was dying to spend some time in a warmer place, so I went to Miami.

Miami is a very famous vacation location in Brazil, and I have always wanted to go there. When I was there I could notice why Brazilians love it so much: because it has many similarities with Brazil because of the weather, the beaches, and the concentration of friendly Latin people.

I consider myself very blessed for not only being able to travel to such beautiful city but to stay in the most amazing hotel I have ever seen in my life: 1Hotel South Beach.

The design and the decoration are on point and the staff is extremely attentive.

My favorite part about this hotel is that they are super luxurious and eco-consciousness. They applied such simple changes that can make a big impact in our environment, such as a farm stand in the lobby, organic textiles, hangers made of recycled paper, room keys made from recycled wood, Tesla electric cars, energy-efficient motion sensors, and so on.

Because I can’t stop thinking about it I feel obligated to say that I had the best French toast in the whole world while I was there. It was a peach French toast made with special K and it was so delicious I could eat it everyday of my life! haha

Think about a dream place! That is what I am mean when I talk about this hotel. From the moment I stepped in the lobby and smelled the hotel’s signature scent until today when I look at these photos I feel like WOW this place is paradise.

If you are planning to go to South Beach you should totally include 1Hotel in your itinerary. Even if it’s just to go have some food or drinks at one of their restaurants. It will blow your mind!

Like 5th Avenue, I've always heard of Rodeo Drive as the place to find the best luxurious fashion stores. Both places have many stores in common, but they have a different vibe because of their locations. New York City as the cool place, and LA as a more chill and laid back.

Que nem a quinta avenida, eu sempre ouvi falar da Rodeo Drive como o lugar para encontrar as melhores lojas de luxo. Os dois locais têm muitas lojas em comum, porém com uma vibe diferente: Nova Iorque mais estilosa e cool, e LA mais relax.

I love this romper from Top Shop! The upper part of it is more fancy because of the texture of the fabric and also because its shaped like a blouse, but the shorts breaks down the serious look and make it more playful. My favorite Knotty Gal Necklace completes the outfit. Ready to window shop!

With Uniqlo at Governors Ball

This was my first time attending Governors Ball and I definitely wanna come back! For those like me who have been eagerly waiting for the summer, it was a great way to preview what summer is going to bring; hot sun, epic music, lots of ice cream, and summer outfits!

Essa foi a primeira vez que participei do Governors Ball e eu definitivamente quero voltar ano que vem! Para as pessoas que como eu estavam esperando ansiosamente para o verão, foi uma ótima maneira de visualizar o que o verão vai trazer; sol, calor, músicas épicas, muito sorvete, e roupas de verão!

Randall's island is a perfect location for the event; so much green grass to just sit down, relax, and enjoy the festival! I was a little afraid of having a hard time to get to the Island, and I opted for crossing the bridge waking from 125th street and it was super easy and fun. And even though the weather was not perfect - it was a bit cold, people's happy energy kept the summer feeling alive.

A Ilha Randall's Island é um local perfeito para o evento; cheio de grama para sentar, relaxar, e apreciar o festival! Eu estava um pouco com medo de ser difícil de chegar na ilha (porque tinha muita gente indo para o evento, trafico, e etc), e eu optei por atravessar a ponte à pé pela rua 125th e foi super fácil e divertido. E embora o clima não estava perfeito (estava um pouco frio) a energia feliz das pessoas manteve o sentimento de verão vivo!

I loved seeing all the outfits and how so many people took their time to choose a festival inspired look! I always see reports of what people were wearing at festivals, but it's totally different from seeing in person, because there are tons of cool outfits that we don't see featured in the reports. It was inspiring!

Eu adorei ver todas as roupas e como tantas pessoas realmente investiram tempo para montar um look inspirado no festival! Eu sempre vejo fotos do que as pessoas estavam usando nos festivais, mas é totalmente diferente de ver em pessoa, porque há vários looks legais que não vemos em fotos. Foi inspirador!

I was wearing a black tank top from Uniqlo. This top is part of the AIRism line, and I chose to wear it because it's so comfortable and ideal for a day outside. I also wanted to wear a plain colored top because I didn't want my outfit to look like I was wearing "too much", since I wanted to wear this jewelry belt and a bolder makeup. Although for many people there is no such thing as "too much" for a festival look, that's what I felt like wearing and I love how it turned out.

Eu estava usando um top preto básico da Uniqlo. Esee top é parte da linha AIRism, e eu decidi usar ele porque é muito confortável e ideal para um dia inteiro ao ar livre. Eu também queria usar um top bem básico porque eu não queria que o meu look ficasse "exagerado" já que eu queria usar esse cinto e uma maquiagem mais ousada. Embora que para muitas pessoas não existe tal coisa como look "exagerado" em festivais, isso foi o que eu senti vontade de vestir e adorei como ficou.

Maybe next year I will wear a more "too much" look? I'm inspired and looking forward for my next Governor's Ball.

Talvez no próximo ano eu decida usar um look mais "exagerado"! Fiquei inspirada e já estou ansiosa para o meu próximo Governor's Ball.

How to Get the Best Photographs of your Summer Outfits

Summer is finally right around the corner, and I am very excited for all the moments at the beach, or by the pool, wearing cute bathing suits while sipping refreshing cocktails! Summer is my favorite season, and my best pictures were taken in a sunny scenery, so today I want to give you some tips of how to get the best summer memories through pictures.

First tip: Colors! Everyone knows how colorful summer is and if you have colorful items in your pictures - bathing suits, accessories, fruits, popsicles, floats, etc. Your photo will automatically represent the warmth and fun of the summer

But if you are not a big fan of colorful, and you want your pictures to represent a glam chic summer, go for black bathing suits and a pair of a statement sunglasses.

Besides sunglasses, big hats and body jewelry are also great accessories because they not only look fab, but they are also good to distract the viewers attention from some parts of our bodies that we rather not give much attention in the picture.

Speaking of sunglasses, be bold and experiment!

And I guess my biggest tip is to not worry so much about how the picture is going to come out, but to enjoy while taking them! Enjoy the sun and go explore this beautiful world we live in! Run, jump, swim, go to parties, try new foods, drink ice cold drinks, and just photograph along the way!

My next summer destination is South Beach and I am so excited and I can not wait to share the pictures with you! Stay tuned!

One last tip: there are a bunch of photography waterproof devices now in the market, and I think you will enjoy taking some pictures under the water! At least that's one of the things I am looking forward to do this summer!:

Timeless Stripes

I've lost count of how many striped shirts I own. Long sleeves for fall and winter, short sleeves and crops for spring and summer. They also vary in colors; red, black, light blue and the most popular navy. I'm a big fan of the jeans and white t-shirt combo, but whenever I feel like I wanna wear something a little less simple, I choose the striped shirt without a doubt.

Eu já perdi as contas de quantas camisas listradas eu tenho no meu guarda-roupa. Com mangas compridas para o outono e inverno, e mangas curtas para primavera e verão. Elas também variam em cores; vermelhas, pretas, azul claro e azul marinho que são as mais popular. Eu sou fanática pela combinação jeans e camiseta branca, mas sempre que eu quero usar algo um pouco menos simples, eu sem dúvida uso uma camiseta listrada.

The striped shirt first became a trend in 1917 when Coco Chanel launched it inspired by the Parisian fisherman whom wore them. It was the beginning of a new era where women started becoming more independent and started wearing elements of men's clothing. Until today the stripes give us the idea of boldness, strength, and freedom. I guess that's why the striped t-shirt became timeless.

A camisa listrada virou tendência pela primeira vez em 1917, quando a Coco Chanel lançou as listras inspiradas nos pescadores parisienses que usavam elas. Era o início de uma nova era em que as mulheres começaram a se tornar mais independentes e começaram a usar elementos de roupas masculinas. Até hoje em dia as listras nos passam a idéia de ousadia, força e liberdade. Eu acho que é por isso que a camiseta listrada se tornou uma peça timeless, que vai estar sempre em alta.

Some people suffer from the fear of wearing stripes and looking wider than they actually are. It is true that they do make you look a little wider, but I don't think the difference is so big that it should be avoided at all costs. In my opinion, if you like the look of a striped t-shirt you should try to find one that makes you feel comfortable and works for your body; larger stripes are better and the vertical stripes have the opposite effect - they make your body skinnier and longer. Just try some on until you look yourself in the mirror and find the perfect fit. There are stripes for all of us!

Algumas pessoas tem medo de usarem listras e ficarem parecendo mais largas do que realmente são. Isso é fato: listras horizontais fazem a gente parecer um pouco mais cheinhas. Mas eu não acho que a diferença seja tão grande que as listras devam ser extremamente evitadas. Na minha opinião, se você gosta do look de uma t-shirt listrada você deve tentar achar uma que faça você se sentir confortável e funcione para o seu corpo; listras maiores são melhores e as listras verticais tem o efeito oposto (elas fazem o seu corpo mais magro e mais longo). O truque é experimentar várias até você se olhar no espelho e ficar feliz. Existem listras para todo mundo!

We all want to have a nice booty! Some people want to have a big one, others a tiny one, but we all want it to be strong, hard, and to make people think: Wow she squats!

Todos nós queremos ter um bum bum durinho! Tem gente que quer ter bunda grande outros um menorzinho, porem todos nós queremos que seja forte, firme e faca as pessoas pensarem: Wow she squats! ( Ela faz agachamentos)

I love doing squats because I don't need to go to the gym or to have any equipment to do it, I just need my body! Lunges are also great for our lower body. All you have to do is: drop it like its hot!

Eu adoro fazer agachamentos porque eu não preciso ir para a academia ou ter nenhum equipamento, eu só preciso do meu corpo! Lunges também são maravilhosos para os nossos membros inferiores. Tudo que você precisa fazer é: descer ate o chao chao chao! (brincadeirinha)

My lower body workout routine: Two times a week I do a variation of squats and lunges that target different gluteus and legs muscles. I usually do 2 sets with 15 repetitions of each exercise: regular squats, jump squats, sumo squats, lunges, and jump lunges.

Minha rotina de treino: Duas vezes por semana eu faço uma variação de agachamento e lunges que têm como alvo diferentes músculos glúteos e pernas. Eu costumo fazer 2 conjuntos com 15 repetições de cada exercício : agachamentos, agachamentos com salto, agachamento sumô, lunges, e lunges com salto.

I feel an enormous difference in my body since I reduced doing lifting to do more exercises using my body weight and I recommend it to everyone! I just have to say that you better be prepared to feel sore after - no pain, no gain!

Eu sinto uma enorme diferença no meu corpo desde que eu reduzi a musculacao e comecei a fazer mais exercícios usando o peso do meu corpo. Eu recomendo pra todo mundo! Eu só tenho a dizer que é melhor você estar preparado para sentir dores no dia seguinte : "No pain, no gain"!

I Don't F* With You By Mickey

How F* adorable is this sweatshirt? I think it's so ironic to have Mickey Mouse hand showing his middle finger. Ironic because Mickey is cute and childish, and he is doing a naughty gesture. For me it means that it doesn't matter how nice and patient you are, everyone has a moment when you just want to put your middle finger up and give it to the world.

Like me last week during final exams week! LOL

Que fofo esse moletom, né gente? Eu achei tão irônico o Mickey Mouse mostrando o dedo do meio haha. Irônico porque o Mickey é bonitinho e meigo, mas está fazendo um gesto não tão meigo. Para mim, essa estampa quer dizer que não importa o quão bonzinho e paciente você é, todo mundo tem um momento em que só queremos dar o dedo do meio para tudo e todos (talvez quease todos).

I tend to be always calm and relaxed, but sometimes I wish I could just say the F word to some people and be left alone. Since I cannot do that, I just put my sweatshirt on and let it say for me. Thanks Mickey!

At this point everybody knows how good it is to detox and make our bodies clean of what we indulged, but don't need in our body - the food that don't have any good nutrients.

However, many of you still don't know that its not necessary to just juice for 3 days to detox. I've tried to live 3 days just "eating" juice and I felt so miserable and all I wanted was to eat everything again once the 3 days of detoxing were over. Obviously my juicing never caused a long effect on my body.

Eu acho que todo mundo que da uma olhada no meu blog consegue perceber o quanto eu amo crop tops! Apenas na home page tem um monte de looks onde estou usando eles.

I especially love this one from 12ten for 3 reasons;

1: Because I am obsessed with black and white; 2: The geometric blocks pattern are cool and make me look thinner; 3: It is long enough to make me feel comfortable wearing it when I am doing daily tasks - like grocery shopping or running to catch the subway.

Eu amo esse da 12ten por 3 razões:

Basic White Dress + High Heels = Ready to Party

Do you wanna know what I love about a white dress? I love how it can look casual, but also more sophisticated when worn with high heels. Maybe it's because I wear black dresses more often, but when I wear a white one I feel better dressed.

Sabe o que eu amo em um vestido branco? Eu adoro como ele pode parecer casual, mas ao mesmo tempo um pouco mais sofisticado se usar com saltos altos. Talvez seja porque eu uso vestidos pretos com mais freqüência, mas quando eu uso um braquinho me sinto mais arrumada.

The little white dress I am wearing is from Tobi. My favorite part about it is the shape where the sleeves are cut; it makes my arms look longer and stronger. The little turtle neck also makes my neck look longer, which I really like! ( I have a little secret complexion of my neck being short haha).

Esse vestidinho branco que estou usando é da loja Tobi. Minha parte dele é o formato reto na parte das mangas: faz os meus braços parecerem mais longos e mais definidos. A pequena gola no pescoço também faz meu pescoço parecer mais longo, e eu adoro! (Eu tenho um pouco de complexo do meu pescoço ser curto haha) .

My sandals are from Call it Spring! They look lovely with a dress, but I am also looking forward to wearing it with pants in a more casual look. They are definitely the main piece of this look that paired with the little white dress got me ready for a fancy dinner. Try to picture this dress with flats or something less glam, it would totally change the look. Points to Cremasco Sandals!

Minhas sandálias são da Call it Spring! Elas ficam lindas com vestido, mas eu também estou empolgada para usar elas com calças em um look mais casual. Napa Valley

I don't even know which words to use to describe how beautiful Napa Valley is! I was super excited about going there, not only because of the big wine reason, but also for the peacefulness of this place. Whoever lives in a big city knows how delicious it is to spend a day in a calm place. Think about a huge field of grapes planted, waiting to become wine, and a gorgeous sun setting behind the horizon line!

Eu nem sei que palavras usar para descrever que lindo que é Napa Valley! Eu estava super animada sobre conhecer lá, não só por causa do vinho, mas também por causa da tranquilidade desse lugar. Quem mora em cidade grande sabe o quanto e gostoso ter um dia em algum lugar calmo. Pense em um campo gigante de plantacao de uvas, e um pôr do sol lindo atrás na linha do horizonte!

I am so blessed for having the chance to go to such place and I wanted to wear something as calm as this location and mood; I chose a simple white shirt and jeans, with my beloved knee high boots, and a jacket because it was a bit chilly.

Eu sou tão abençoada por ter a oportunidade de conhecer lugares como esse, e eu quis vestir algo tão calmo como essa localização; Eu escolhi uma simples camisa branca e jeans, com as minhas amadas botas de cano alto, e uma jaqueta porque estava um pouco frio.

To finalize the look, I put one this incredible RISE AND SHINE Necklace from Knotty Gal to match with the sunlight and remind me that the sun will always be there; Even at moments when everything seems dark and I can't find a solution, the next day will always bring some light to guide me out of any gloomy moment.

That night we went for dinner at Auberge du Soleil and the food and view were magnificent! A great way to end a glowing day!

Para finalizar o look, coloquei esse incrível Colar da Knotty Gal para combinar com o sol e me lembrar que ele vai estar sempre vai estar lá; Mesmo nos momentos em que tudo parece escuro e eu não consigo encontrar uma solução, o dia seguinte vai sempre trazer luz para me guiar em qualquer momento sombrio. Although the Spring season has started more than a month ago, it has been still hard to have a nice and warm day. Why so cold NYC? Enough it's enough!

When I saw the forecast for 75 degrees last Wednesday there was no doubt; I had to do something outside! Lindsey, her mom who was visiting from Amsterdam, and I went on a boat that cruises in the Hudson River in the west side of Manhattan, overseeing the skyline and the Statue of Liberty. It was a glorious day!

Embora a primavera ter comecado a mais de um mês atrás, ainda esta difícil termos um dia agradável e quente. Por que tão frio NYC? CHEGAAA de frio!

Quando eu vi a previsão para 24 graus na quarta-feira não tive dúvida; eu nao podia ficar dentro de casa! Entao juntamente com a Lindsey e a mãe dela que mora em Amsterdam mas estava visitando NY fomos em um passeio de barco que navega no rio Hudson, no lado oeste de Manhattan, com vista pro highline e Estátua da Liberdade. Foi um dia glorioso!

And it was the first day of the year that I could finally wear sandals! I was wearing the Huller gladiators from Call it Spring. It felt so good to wear sandals again, and they were so comfortable! I've been looking for the ideal gladiators and I'm very happy with my choice! I love them and three people stopped me to compliment my shoes, which means that I'm not the only one who thinks they look beautiful! Can't wait to wear them again with a dress in another hot day!

E foi o primeiro dia do ano que eu pude finalmente usar sandálias! Eu estava usando gladiadoras da Call it Spring. Foi tão bom usar sandálias novamente, e elas sao super confortáveis! Eu estava procurando por gladiadoras ideais para mim e eu estou muito feliz com a minha escolha! Eu amo essas e três pessoas me pararam para elogiar elas, o que significa que eu não sou a única que achou elas lindas! Mal posso esperar para usar elas novamente com um vestido em um dia mais quente!

DSTLD Jeans: The Perfect Fit For Me

I have no doubt that the type of clothing I wear most are jeans. I wear them almost every day to go to school, work, meetings, grocery shopping, dinners, and even to go party. And because of that, I need jeans that can give me movement and DSTLD jeans have the perfect fit for me. They are amazingly comfortable!

Sometimes it's hard for me with jeans because they slide down my hips, and I have to keep pulling them back up. This doesn't happen with these jeans because the quality of its material is really great. I feel like these pants are hugging me, and I don't need to worry about showing a little bit of underwear or tush when I bend down (haha).

Feeling 16 Again

When I wore this outfit and looked at myself in the mirror I felt 16 again. Funny thing is that when I was that age I was not wearing anything like that. Leather jackets and beanies don't match with the weather of Brazil at all, but something about this look made me feel like a teenager.

Quando eu vesti essa roupa e me olhei no espelho me senti com 16 anos novamente. O engraçado é que quando eu tinha essa idade eu não estava usando nada parecido. Jaquetas de couro e beanies não combinam muito com o clima do Brasil. Mas algo sobre esse look me fez sentir adolescente.

Maybe this feeling came from the popping red color of the beanie, I usually wear a basic black one. Or it could have been the silly "Panda" written with "Prada" font on my shirt. Perhaps I was feeling like my beloved "teenagehood" idol: Avril Lavigne.

Talvez esse sentimento veio da cor vermelha da minha beanie, eu geralmente uso uma pretinha basica. Ou do "Panda" escrito com fonte "Prada" na minha regata. Talvez eu estava apenas me sentindo como minha amada idolo durante minha adolescência: Avril Lavigne.

And that is one of my favorite things about fashion: the possibility to go back in time and to remember old memories through a piece of clothing, or just a style. I alway heard my aunt saying that she was too old to wear certain things. But I believe that with a good dose of common sense, everyone should take the chance to wear something that makes us feel younger sometimes.

E essa é uma das minhas coisas favoritas sobre moda: a possibilidade de voltar no tempo e lembrar memórias através de uma peça de roupa, ou apenas um estilo per si. Sempre ouvi minha tia dizer que ela estava velha demais para usar certas coisas. Porem eu acredito que com uma boa dose de bom senso, todos devemos ter a oportunidade de vestir algo que nos faz sentir mais jovens de vem em quando.

What I Eat

Since I wrote this post talking about how I lost 26 pounds after moving to the USA, I keep receiving messages asking about what I eat today in a normal day. First of all, let me make clear that I don't starve and I am totally against not having food in order to lose weight! Food is necessary to live happy and healthy! However, I pay A LOT of attention to what I eat because I want to make sure I am only putting good things into my body.

I reduced a lot the amount of my sugar consumption and I'm always trying a healthier option. I drink coffee with soy milk instead of regular milk (soy latte), because the soy milk is sweeter and I don't need to use sugar. I eat dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate, and frozen yogurt instead of ice cream. Little things that at the end make a big difference.

I almost don't eat fried food and I do my best to eat whole wheat and get away from the white flour. I eat whole wheat pasta, bread and wraps. Brown rice instead of white rice.

As I said before in this post, the change is difficult in the beginning. After you get used to eating healthier options and see the difference not only in the mirror, but also in the way that you feel, it becomes super easy to maintain that lifestyle.

Now I am going to show you what I eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, so you guys can have an idea and create your own routine. I eat 3 main meals and 2 or 3 snacks. I eat every 3 hours because I'm always hungry, and if I don't eat I become hangry.

Breakfast:

Oatmeal with fruits; Eggs (hard boiled, poached, scramble); Spinach omelete; Avocado toast; Almond butter or peanut butter toast with bananas; Waffles with fruits.

Lunch:

Salad; Wrap; Sandwich; Sushi

Dinner:

Chicken; Fish; Steak; Vegetable; Rice; Pasta.

Snacks:

Fruits; Nuts; Greek yogurt; Protein bars; Carrots; Green tea.

That is basically what I usually eat everyday, and I always mix them up so I don't get bored of eating the same thing over and over. There are so many options of vegetables and fruits, so many ways you can cook the chicken or the eggs in the morning. The possibilities are endless!

Desde que eu escrevi esse post falando sobre ter perdido 17 Kg depois de ter mudado pro USA, nao paro de receber mensagens perguntando sobre a minha alimentação hoje em dia. Primeiro de tudo, quero deixar claro que nao passo fome, e sou totalmente contra ficar sem comer. Comida e necessario para vivermos felizes e saudáveis. Porem, eu presto MUITA atenção no que como porque quero ter certeza de estar colocando dentro do meu corpo somente coisas boas.

Diminui muito a quantidade de açúcar que consumo, sempre tempo uma opção mais saudável. Tomo cafe com leite de soja, ao invés de leite normal, porque o leite de soja e mais docinho e ai eu nao preciso usar acucar. Como chocolate meio amargo, ao inves de chocolate ao leite, e frozen yogurt ao inves de sorvete. Sao pequenas coisinhas que no fim acabam fazendo grande diferenca.

Quase nao como mais fritura, ate porque aqui nao consigo achar pastel e coxinha todos os lugares, entao e mais facil de evitar haha,

Faco o possivel para comer coisas integrais e fugir da farinha branca fina. Como arroz, macarrao, e pao integral.

Como falei antes nesse post, a mudanca e dificil no comeco. Depois que voce se acostuma a comer opcoes mais saudaveis e ver a diferenca nao so no espelho mas tambem na forma que voce se sente, fica super facil de manter esse estilo de vida.

Entao hoje vou mostrar o que como no cafe da manha, almoco, janta e lanches, e ai voces podem ter uma ideia e criar a sua propria rotina. Eu como as três refeições principais e 2 ou 3 lanches. Eu como a cada 3 horas, porque eu estou sempre com fome e se eu não comer meu humor fica pessimo!

Café da manhã:

Aveia com frutas, ovos (cozidos, fritos, gema mole, mexido, etc), omelete com espinafre, torrada com abacate amassado com sal e pimenta, torrada com pasta de amendoim ou de amendoas, waffles com frutas.

Almoço:

Salada, Wrap, Sanduiche, sushi.

Jantar:

frango, peixe, carne, legumes, arroz, macarrao.

Snacks:

frutas, amêndoas, pistache, iogurte grego, barrinhas de proteína, cenoura, chá verde.

Isso é basicamente o que eu costumo comer todos os dias, e eu sempre dou uma misturada para não me cansar de comer a mesma coisa. Há tantas opções de legumes e frutas, tantas maneiras de cozinhar o frango ou os ovos na parte da manhã. As possibilidades são infinitas!

Se o seu objetivo e perder peso, mas de uma forma saudavel: coma bem!

The Williamsburg neighborhood has been growing insanely in the past years, and the real estate prices are becoming higher and higher. However, you can still find some spots that are not yet dominated by the new wave of people moving to Brooklyn. This house is one of them.

I have no idea what it was before and why people are not using it, he only thing I know is that it looks so cool. The old rustic architecture and the big American Flag hanging on the door makes me feel like I was taken to the past when I look at it. It's like a piece of old fashioned construction right in the middle of the modern, stylish, and hipster area.

I guess I am not the only one who loves it because I always see people photographing in front of it! For these pictures, it was amazing how the sunlight was beaming against the glass windows, and my lipstick coordinating with the American Flag.

How the Body Book Changed the Way I See Food

I love reading and I love food, so this book is great for me! It is amazing for me the fact that what we eat can be related to so many things in our lives, as diseases or how or skin looks! When I talk about alimentation I am always emphasizing how important it is to be healthy, but I know that for most of people who decide to change their eating habits is because they want to lose weight. I wrote this post explaining how and why I lost more than 30 pounds after moving to America, and saying that I've found a healthy lifestyle balance. What I did not say was the food I stopped eating in order to find this balance.

I am also part of the big group of people who have tried different (sometimes crazy) kinds of diets, without having an effective result. First of all I hate to be hungry! It puts me in a really bad mood (hangry). And after I was done with the diet, I gained all the weight right back. I used to get frustrated and so mad at myself for being so hungry and eating what I shouldn't. And that's how the Body Book changed my view on food.

This amazing book was written by the gorgeous Cameron Dias, who even though was always skinny, used to eat a lot of junk food when she was young. Her world changed when she opted to live a healthier lifestyle. I am so happy for her and so glad she decided to share her story with us. She tells details of how food is important for so many things in our lives.

Basically what I learned is: we need food to survive! The energy we have to do our tasks every day comes from what we eat. Like a car that need gas in order to work, we need food as a source of energy and strength. When we feel hungry, that is our body telling us that it needs more food. When we do those crazy diets which we are hungry all the time, our bodies don't receive the energy it needs to work. We will not function properly, we will feel weak and upset (nobody is happy when is hungry), our immune system will lower its power, and at the end we will only have damaged ourselves.

The problem is that we somehow lost our notion of food and what our bodies need. We were sold to the practical, and temptations of food that are not actually food. We stopped eating what was natural and whole as vegetable and fruits to start eating pizzas and ice cream.

I know it is hard to change your habits when it comes to eating, but honestly speaking it is SO WORTHY IT! And I guarantee that the hardest part is the beginning. It's hard to start changing your choices, but once you start doing it you get used to it. I wrote this post talking about the BBG and I think the food menu Kayla Itsines displays on the book is great! It worked really well for me. But If you don't want to get the guide, and want a help from me, I am going to post my weekly meals here next week so you can have an idea and create you own! Stay tuned!

What I changed after reading this book:

I started eating more fruits and less desserts.
I substituted white sugar for raw sugar, white flour for whole wheat flour, white rice for brown rice.
I drink even more water than before. Always a big glass first thing in the morning.
I am experimenting more flavors from herbs and vegetables.
I understood how important it is to keep our body moving.

There were many changes and things I learned and it's very hard to list all in one post. I am going to share more as I go. I am not crazy about following all the rules, and I think it's important to be happy and it's ok to eat something not so healthy that you are craving. But there are many options out there that we can use to solve those craves too. I love french fries as an example, but I have found a solution for my desire to eat them: Baked sweet potatoes! It's way more healthy, and I promise it is so yummy!

It's also very easy to make and you only need 4 ingredients: sweet potato, salt, pepper, and olive oil.

All you have to do is to cut the potatoes in french fries shape, put them on a baking sheet, sprinkle some salt and pepper, and drizzle a little bit of olive oil. Bake for around 40 minutes on a 425 degrees.

Sometimes at the end I add some basil, or parmesan cheese to give a special taste. Or for a even more delicious aroma and flavor, my secret is to drizzle some truffle oil.

Eu adoro ler e eu adoro comida, então este livro e é por isso que considero esse livro ótimo! É incrível para mim o fato de que o que comemos pode ser relacionado com tantas coisas em nossas vidas, como doenças, ou o estado da nossa pele! Quando eu falo sobre alimentação, estou sempre enfatizando o quanto é importante ser saudável, mas eu sei que o motivo da maioria das pessoas que decidem mudar seus hábitos alimentares é a perca de peso. Eu escrevi este post explicando como e por que eu perdi mais de 30 quilos depois de se mudar para a América, e dizendo que encontrei um equilíbrio e estilo de vida saudável. O que eu não disse foi o que eu parei de comer para encontrar esse equilíbrio.

Eu também sou parte do enorme grupo de pessoas que já experimentaram diferentes (às vezes malucas) dietas, sem ter um resultado eficaz. Primeiro de tudo eu odeio ficar com fome! Me deixa com um humor péssimo! E depois que eu terminei as dietas, ganhei todo o peso de volta. Eu costumava ficar frustrada e com tanta raiva de mim mesma por ter tanta fome e comer o que eu não deveria. E é assim que o Livro do Corpo mudou minha visão sobre alimentos.

Esse livro surpreendente foi escrito pela linda da Cameron Dias, que sempre foi magra, porém costumava comer um monte de porcarias quando ela era mais jovem. Seu mundo mudou quando ela optou por viver uma vida saudável. Bom pra ela e fico tão feliz que ela decidiu compartilhar sua história com a gente. Ela conta detalhes de como comida é importante para tantas coisas em nossas vidas.

Basicamente o que eu aprendi é: precisamos de comida para sobreviver! A energia que temos para fazer as nossas tarefas a cada dia vem do que nós comemos. Como um carro que precisa de gasolina para funcionar, nós precisamos de comida como fonte de energia e força. Quando estamos com fome é o nosso corpo nos dizendo que ele precisa de mais alimentos. Quando fazemos essas dietas loucas que passamos fome o tempo todo, o nosso corpo não recebe a energia que necessita para trabalhar. Nós não funcionamos bem, nos sentimos fracos e chateados (ninguém é feliz quando está com fome), o nosso sistema imunológico vai diminuir o seu poder, e no final teremos apenas nos danificado.

O problema é que de alguma forma nós perdemos a noção dos alimentos que o nosso corpo precisa. Fomos vendidos para o que é prático, e as tentações. Nós paramos de comer o que era natural como vegetais e frutas e começamos a comer pizzas e sorvetes.

Eu sei que é difícil de mudar seus hábitos quando se trata de comida, mas honestamente falando, vale muito a pena! E eu garanto que a parte mais difícil é o começo. É difícil começar a mudar suas escolhas, mas uma vez que você começar a mudança você vai se acostumar com ela. Eu escrevi este post falando sobre o BBG e eu acho que o menu de comida que a Kayla Itsines mostra no livro é ótimo! Funcionou muito bem para mim. Mas se você não quer comprar o guia, e quer uma ajuda minha, eu vou postar minhas refeições semanais aqui na próxima semana para que você possa ter uma idéia e criar a sua rotina! Fiquem atentos!

O que eu mudei depois de ler esse livro:

Eu comecei a comer mais frutas e menos sobremesas.
Eu substitui o açúcar branco para o açúcar demerara, farinha branca por farinha de trigo integral, arroz branco por arroz integral.
Eu bebo mais água do que antes. Sempre um copo grande de manhã em jejum.
Eu estou experimentando mais sabores de temperos, ervas e legumes.
Compreendi o quanto é importante manter nosso corpo em movimento.

Houveram muitas mudanças e coisas que eu aprendi e é muito difícil listar tudo em um post. Vou dar dicas ao poucos. Eu não sou louca sobre seguir todas as regras, e eu acho que é importante ser feliz acima de tudo. Acho ok comer algo não tão saudável que você esteja desejando de vemz em quando. Porém existem muitas opções que podemos usar para resolver nossos desejos também. Eu amo batatas fritas por exemplo, mas eu encontrei uma solução para o meu desejo de comer elas: batata doce assada! É uma maneira mais saudável, e eu juro que ficam gostosas! É também muito fácil de fazer e você só precisa de quatro ingredientes: batata doce, sal, pimenta e azeite. Tudo que você tem que fazer é cortar as batatas no formato de batata frita, coloca-las em uma assadeira, polvilhar um pouco de sal e pimenta do reino, e um pouco de azeite de oliva. Asse por cerca de 40 minutos no forno de 220 graus.

Às vezes, no final eu adiciono um pouco de manjericão, ou queijo parmesão para dar um sabor especial. E para um sabor e aroma ainda mais delicioso, meu segredo é colocar um pouco de azeite trufado.
